For the Cross Canadian Ragweed Fans They are DONE!!!!!!

Cody announced it finally last night at Gruene Hall that they were splitting. Apparently the Drummer Randy Ragsdale has decided its time to be home to help raise his 10 yr old autistic son. Got to respect a guy for that. Cody said they had a pac that it was all or none back when they started so CCR is no longer. I assume they will finish the tour they have scheduled for 2010 but he didnt mention anything about it last night.

The good news is Cody is doing one Solo alblum and the he and Seth James are starting a band. It is going to be more Rock and Roll but should be a good sound. CCR was always a lil more rock than they were country anyways!!!

I really enjoy their music. Sad to see them go but kudos to Randy for stepping up to the family plate.

Ive heard rumors about it for a couple months being out here close to his home. They have been wispering it at a few concerts we have been to and apparently Cameron had been hearing the same thing for a while. I think last night was the first time he actually said it outloud.

I will see Cody and Seth on July 21st so mabye we will get an idea of the new sound

They're probably tired of singing the same song over and over. I can't say I'll miss them.

Well, I can always put their CDs in the player and rotate them.

Hate to hear that but can't blame the guy for putting family first.

I hear from Phil Pritchett that it will probably not be a permanent thing, that they have just been working the road so much over the past 15 years that they all need a break and need to be with their families. Also Canada has a few other projects in mind but this is not the last we will hear from Ragweed.

Agreed, I like their old songs a lot more than the new stuff. And I lost all respect for them when I watched them "smoke it up" on stage at Blaine's Picnic in San Angelo several years ago. A lot of young kids in the audience at that venue and I thought it was distasteful.

If you go to pt 1 and move to the 14 min mark and Cody tells it all. This was recorded from the live show last night.
