What to do in Alpine TX..suggestions please

I just got into Alpine TX. last night to visit my dad, who just moved out here a few months ago for the border patrol.. so he hasnt been able to site see..My little sis and her beau will be here tonight as well. We will be here till Monday. Any suggestions on some cool stuff to do around here? Thanks!

Sit on the back/front porch and drink beer. There ain't much to do in that metropolis. It is a good town to get to know your family real well, by spending time at home.

Drive up to Fort Davis, about 25 mi., nice little town. check out the old Fort, then drive up to McDonald observatory, pretty drive in the lat evening, see a lot of deer along the creek. Indian Lodge is a cool place to stay but its also in a pretty nice setting.

watch the marfa lights, there's a couple of bars, there's a dude ranch for horse riding, or call chamber of commerce

That is my favorite part of Texas! My niece will be going to Sul Ross in the Fall. I can't wait to go visit!

Marfa Lights, Ft. Davis, McDonalds Observatory heck just drive some of the back roads. There is a awesome little Mexican food place their. Can't remember exactly where but if I recall you had to cross some railroad traps. Hole in the wall place. The bar kinda across the street from the rodeo grounds use to be a pretty wild place especially after the college rodeo.

Oh Yeah, if you have never swam in Balmorhea it is a must do. About an hours drive from Alpine. One of the destination swimmin' holes in Texas..........

You def. Need to hit Balmorhea. I like the Crystal Bar a lot, Railroad Blues is a great live music place. Museum of the Big Bend at Sul ross. If you get to board you can ride along with my cop buddy out there.

Went to school out their...Like everyone said..Not much at all to do their..It is a great place if you want peace and quiet..
