    UPS rant AND rave

    Ordered some new FMJ's last week and they were shipped UPS with a scheduled delivery date of today. As I am sure most of you do, when I have goodies en route I like to keep up with the progress. I checked the website at about 2:45 and noticed that they postponed the delivery a day because they couldn't find my address. I was a little upset because I have received many packages from the shipper and they have all been delivered to this address without issue. END OF RANT

    RAVE: When I noticed the issue I immediately contacted their customer service totally expecting to receive a long line of automated responses and an extended game of Ring Around the Rosey. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. After the initial automated message to sort the incoming calls I was connected with a real live person who spoke nearly perfect english and was a pleasure to talk to. She apologized multiple times for the confusion, confirmed the address and then took down my number assuring me that someone would make contact within the hour to either confirm address/directions or to allow me to pick up the package at the local hub.

    I am a little skeptical that I will receive the call within the quoted time, but even if it comes within 2hrs I will still be pleased with the customer service dept of UPS.

      I have had the same thing happen since I live just west of east Podunk. I had the driver call with in a couple of hours and I guided him to my place. I was pretty impressed with UPS CS.

        I called and raised a bunch of cain with UPS to later find out i mis-read the email and i should have been calling USPS. Complete FAIL. i did call and say that i was sorry.

          I paid expedited shipping fees for a package I NEEDED for a business trip and package never came? Come to find out the DRIVER wanted off early that day and went home at 3:00pm cause it was Friday(they actually fessed up and told me). CS found my package in back of his truck. Manager had someone go dig out my package and I had to drive to the sticks to their warehouse for my package before I could leave town.

          Or how 'bout the time they crushed a package with a $400 bass guiter amp in it due to THEIR carelessness and tried to deny paying for it when I purchased insurance (extra as some is already provided in regular fees I believe) The shipping place I went thru actually paid me so I wouldnt have to deal with UPS myself.

          In a nutshell I'll never use UPS unless it is a necessity and my ONLY option.

            I have used them all, UPS, USPS, FEDEX, ad nauseum..............UPS year in year out pu/delivery of over 100 packages a day never let me down. Fixed it, made it right, best tracking, etc. In addition, the rates are better than any carrier. Mind you I had an account and it was negotiated each year. We worked hard to pack correctly and never had a problem because we worked with UPS to make our customers happy everytime. Just sayin'................

              Mind you the above package that was CRUSHED beyond belief was in every way their fault. The amp was literally in tons of pieces,. It was not a packaging issue, however afterward there was definitely a customer service issue

              AND the other example was actually only one of SEVERAL times they were nice enough to let me come pick up my own package when they just couldnt seem to pull off delivering as they were PAID to do even tho I made time in MY schedule to sit around ALL day waiting for them so I wouldnt miss the delivery

                San Angelo, sorry for your bad experiences with them!

                This time I had a great experience with them. Not only did they call within 30 minutes (shocked) but they redelivered my package within an hour and a half of my original phone call (REALLY SHOCKED). Way to go UPS!

                  Wish we had your areas service. Our areas sucks. Rather pay more for Fedex. Glad you got your new goodies. Kinda like Christmas ain't it

                      Now after reading this I sitting here waiting for my exhaust system that was shipped today from BANKS in Calif. for my 07 dodge pu wondering if they will be round when they get here or flatten out...........Shipping confirmation said it would be here friday any bets ???? ....shipped ....UPS....Andy

                              Sorry for your problems.
                              I've have, knock on wood, great luck with both UPS and FedEx. Got one shippment today and 3 more this week and I think they are all UPS...
