The Longhorn Tannery is ran by my parents. Please give me a call and see what you think. There are a few of our fellow TBHers who have used them in the past. You can do a search on the green sheet for some references.

I have no idea where Santa Fe Texas is but I am in Austin and will be glad to help out by meeting you if need be. Dad also has a drop off location in Junction.

Yep, Longhorn Tannery does EXCELLENT work! I work in Pasadena. I could meet up for a TBH express. I go right thru Weimar at least twice a month. Let me know if I can help.
$28 for whitetail and $35 for axis last time I checked
$28 and $35 for tanned hides? is that price correct? there aint supposed to be a 1 in front of the 2 or 3? If those prices are right, thats is a heck of a good deal!
I carried 2 red deer hides and 2 whitetail doe hides to them. All I did was skin the deer, roll the hides up and freeze. Took them in and dropped them off, no fleshing, no nothing. Talked to the guy and told him up front what condition they were in and he said $28 on the whitetails and $25 a sq foot on the red deer. I have a pricelist at home that was current/ what he was using in Dec when I dropped off the hides
Every taxi I called local wanted $100 and up for whitetail hide
North Texas is where I have used and they have turned out great- The guys even took my kid on a tour and showed him all kinds of hides and gave him a camo hat that he wears everyday. The prices listed up top are correct.
That is amazing. Everywhere I have gone has been $125. How are they doing it so cheap?
Shoot, I could freeze it, overnight it, and it would still be cheaper.
