Never been there in the summer, but in the winter I see all kinds of streams when we are snowmobiling. The guides who take us out said they also do rides on Yamaha Rhinos in the summer and hit all the honey holes for fishing. Good luck, hope yall have a good time.

Trout and rent a jeep, if your not taking 4 wheeler, and miles of trails to explore and wildlife. Just a hint wear a cap or hat. I did not realize how thin I was on top until AFTER a day of jeeping.

Take the Jeep up the trail to Lost Lake. Hike up to Horseshoe Lake (there used to be lots of marmots and pretty good fishing) Then pack up, and make the ascent to Wheeler Peak (just above Horseshoe)

It's the highest peak in all of New Mexico, at 13,161'. I've done it several times.

There's also good trails up to Middle Fork and several abandoned old mining camps that you can visit.
