Mississippi catfish farms mostly for us when we can't get them from Lake DesAllemands in southeast Louisiana.......actually for the past 10 years or so!!! (Sam's sells the fillets from Mississippi)

Man that would be a helluva "catchin" hole. Catch and release of course but it would be fun...

I too have seen the Basa filets at Wally World...no way in hail!...

Bout what all them fish and ducks are gonna taste like coming out of Louisiana this winter. Just think they will already be pre-coated with oil for frying.

I agree. Glad we have environmental laws in this country that help protect our waters and allow us to safely fish on our own or buy from safer local fish farms. But there are still some issues and challenges:

I would be careful with shrimp in a grocery store as well- It cost a little more but I buy local shrimp- Friends dont let friends eat foreign shrimp.

                            Oscar,
I know how it sounds and I really didn't mean it to come out that way. I really do feel for the people all along the Gulf Coast who have been and will be affected by the current disaster. I am sure we will all feel some ill effects from it. My comment was basically a jab regarding an nice debate that Smart, a few others and myself had regarding the "Farewell to the Gulf" thread a couple of days ago.
