    Stupid people!!!

Hopefully this isn't a long read but I had to vent! 2 days ago at the babysitter's house, one of the other mom's brought their son with explosive diarrhea and said she had to work and they dad couldn't keep the boy because the dad was throwing up. Come to find out, they both had a bacterial infection (who would have thought). Well my wife is driving home yesterday and my daughter puked her guts up in the car and she is only 22 months so she can't say I feel sick. I feel horrible for my daughter because I can't do anything to stop the sickness. Needless to say I want to kill the ***** of a dad because he can't do his job of being a father while he is sick.
All that being said, my family for the last 4 years heads to Paris every 4th of July weekend. Looks like we won't get to go and this will ruin a family tradition all because the d-bag family doesn't use common sense. Instead of being in the country or at my lease this weekend I am stuck in the city (Arlington) and I hate it....Happy 4th of July!

The babysitter shouldnt have taken the kid. and the parents should be prepared for a situation like that. I've been extremely sick and still had to take care of my sick kid. Its what you sign up for when you have kids

Try giving her some probiotics or acidophilous, but if you put it in her milk make sure she drinks it right away or it will turn to yogurt

            What Gen said.

Babysitter should have told the mother not to bring her in the house, and at the very least called you to tell you come get your kid because there is a really sick one in the house and she was too weak to say no. Try pulling this in a REAL day care and see how far in the door they let the sick child....

The parents shouldn't have brought the baby to the sitter but on the flip side of that, there are a million other places your child could have picked up her illness.

              Hope she gets well soon.

I have been in the exact same situation as you...That’s what my wife and I have come to expect with sending the kiddo to daycare. Unfortunately, it's probably happens more often than not at the daycare facilities...a lot of single parents out there that have to work to keep food on the table.

I would find a new sitter, thats why i don't like in home daycares. plus they're not as structured. but thats just me. is the daycare licensed?

Sitter is at fault as well IMO. Might have this discussion with them.
Sorry about the trip. Make the most of you time at home with your family.

Funny that you say that...We love the babysitter but felt that the structure of a school daycare was better for her. We already had her signed up for a school daycare to socialize her also. We told the babysitter yesterday before she signed up. The babysitter was not told the child was sick when he was dropped off so I don't blame her. From your previous post Gen, I agree that whatever happens to me I will always be a responsible father and take care of my kid. She seems to be keeping food and water down so far this morning but it's only been an hour. Thanks for the well wishes.

Glad she is feeling better, I always keep probiotics in the fridgerator. if there is a whole foods or central market near you the best ones to get are called MegaFlora. They're expensive but so worth it especially when you have young kids that can't take immodium. you can also get acidophilous from the pharmacy but make sure they're refrigerated. if they come in a gel cap, poke a hole in it and mix it with juice or milk. Its the first thing I take when I get a stomach bug.

You can also go on the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services website and check out daycares, it lists what they were cited for during their inspection, every daycare you will look at will have been cited for something. The daycare Shane goes to had 5 and its a good daycare so don't let a few fix it things bother you. no place is perfect but you don't want a daycare that has failed inspections. Here is the website http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/

wait until school starts.. most families use school as a baby sitter so they wont miss work...
