Krooked River Ranch??

I'm looking for a little feedback from the green screen on the Krooked River Ranch near Albany. If any one has been out there or may know someone who has, Id like to hear your thoughts on the place. Im looking for info on the deer hunting more than anything, especially the quality and number of good bucks.

Hunted a 1 mile fence line next to them for several years, guest,. Good Turkey, Hogs, Varmits, and the deer were about 120 to 130. The persons who were on the lease didn't get anything bigger than 130, they were on the lease for about 10 years.

On occasion I used to help do guided quail hunts out there in the mid eighties and also did a little dove hunting out there.

Never fooled with the deer.

Roy Wilson was the head hunting guru and I always thought he didn't know as much about quail as he thought he did. He is a real nice fella but if he handles his deer like he did the quail then I would say find another commercial lease.

I read that he was running the whole operation a few years ago.

Can't remember for sure but it seems like it borders the Nail and/or Mathews (Lambshead) ranches, each of which are 20,000+ acres. Did some work on those two several years ago and they always had good deer populations and some nice bucks taken. Seemed to to a good job in managing as well. Assuming Krooked River is managing their hunting somewhat well, I'd give you good odds of putting down a 140+.
