How old are these shotgun shells?

I found this box of shells in an old R.V. that Dad recently bought. The R.V. hadn't been touched in at least twelve years, and I'm wondering how old these shells are.

$5.79 is written on top of the box.

Any reason not to shoot them?

    Thanks.

I would bet they are not real old and probably safe to shoot

Box says 25 plastic shotgun shells

Those look pretty recent to me - Peters still uses that box and 5.79 isnt much more than they are now.

Lead prices went up dramatically in 2008...$5.79 for a target load was pretty steep before that...those look fairly new and I wouldnt be afraid to shoot them.

Those are relatively new shells in a "retro" box. Shoot em.

i'm guessing mid to late 60's .... the hulls are are plastic , earlier shells were wrapped in paper

those shells were loaded by Remington as they owned Peters

DuPont owned Remington which is why they have a DuPont label on side of box

                the headstamp should say R-P

                hope this helps

ps - see if the inside of box flaps have a date stamp with month and year

Yep, blue plastic. Safe to shoot? Or are they worth something?
