haha, sadly most of the data off that drive could be recovered by a data recovery outfit depending on how badly the platters fractured.

I take a cutting tourch to em, but that should do the trick.

One of the hospitals I worked in we filmed some of the fluoro cases onto VCR tapes (before PACS), when all of the tapes got full instead of buying new ones we would just box them up and take them over to the MRI. Tape the box down to the table real good and run it into the bore of the magnet. The whole box would jump, rattle and shake. Leave them in there a few minutes and they would come out blank as brand new.

Bet it would clean a hard drive just as well
