    Iphone update problems

I've read through a few of the threads until I got tired or reading. So I thought I'd make it easier and just ask the braintrust. I went to restore and it says "backing up" for over 20 minutes now. It's great that it's backing my phone but what do I do now since it's obviously not working. The little green bar is not moving past about 1/2 cm. I have full internet connection. No problems with my laptop.

    Thanks in advance!

I've installed the update on several and some of the backups took over an hour
If I didn't think my opinion was right, then it wouldn't be my opinion. So, any other opinion must be wrong, therefore stupid.

Give it time, sometimes it takes a while. If it truly is stuck, unplug it hold the button on top and the button below the screen until it resets then try it (hooking up to computer) again.

OK! I guess I'll just wait. I just hope this isn't a sign of losing all the pic and apps on my phone when it updates.

Here's the quickest way to update. First sync your phone. Next remove pretty much everything from it except what you can't live without for the next day or two. Upgrade phone, put back on what you want. No reason to backup 20 apps and 300 songs that are already sitting on your computer's hard drive. Note you will lose app settings if you do this, but it can SUBSTANTIALLY reduce upgrade time. Also make sure your computer doesn't have any BIOS updates, several HP machines have a bug in their USB implementation at the BIOS level and will fail on any significant transfer to a iPhone/Pod.

And it forced me to clean out the pack rat's nest of movies, songs, and apps that have accumulated on my phone in the last 18 months.

Just let it sit hooked up for a while and it'll be good. When I did my upgrade I "lost" all my apps and stuff. Went back in and they all reloaded real fast. Good as gold now...

Left mine plugged in for almost 5 hours. The green bar never budged at all! Had to take to Apple. They had it fixed in about .5 seconds.

Download the "HeyTell" app. It's like a walkie-talkie! Also has a map to show your exact location and stores your messages like a text message but Voice!

I always restart my computer and iPhone before I sync. I was having the same problem, but now I never do. Takes an extra minute or so, but it goes so much quicker.
