I want to wake up in that city that doesn't sleep..

Heading to NY in a few weeks.
Wed-Sun. What's good to do up there?

Is there any chance to see any camo or antlers?

depends on what you're up for. I've been on a few shopping trips there so other than shopping and eating, not sure what to tell ya.

Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island
        Yankees game
        Central Park
        Times Square
        Grand Central Station was cool
        Take your lady to Tiffany's

You can buy a week pass for the subway for like 25 bucks or so. Pay it once and ride all you want. Best and cheapest way to get around.

Around central park there is a bbq restaurant called Chirping Chicken. Awesome place. 1/2 chicken and sides with drink for 7 bucks. You can't get that here in TX.

If you're there just for leisure, don't sleep in. Get up and go. We were headed out the door at 7 each morning we were there.

I did not like NYC, too many people. Upstate NY is another story. I'm heading to Buffalo in August for a little walleye fishing on Lake Erie and in the Niagara river. Just south of the Buffalo area, there are lots of farms with some good size deer.

Enjoy your trip and take it all in. One of the best people watching cities in the US.

My uncle and compadre is going to a Yankees game and his teen daughter wanted to go with him so I'm "hired" to go and watch for her (I'm a mean jealous bad looking mexican cousin ) and go with her to science museums, zoo, theatre and stuff like that (my family still won't realize I'm too redneck for that). My very first concern is to make her trip fun and not "dad restricted" but I would like to see some outdoor content around sometime if possible.

I'm affraid I'll feel the same... I wouldn't be surprised if by the second night I run away leaving a note in the hotel room saying I'm out to Canada for some Caribou or Bear hunting (what ever is on season) or off for a fishing trip!

I know it sounds silly, but I got my haircut in NYC in some random hood while on a self guided tour. Made me feel like I was part of something on some random level.

Take some pics and report back.

That's task #2.. first I'm going for the chicago style hotdogs and food on a stick.

I would really like some advise on zoo and museums.
