What is the Best 250 ATV?

I would like to hear everyone's opinions on what they think the best 250 Atv is. Performance, reliability, Price, etc. I have read good things about the Bayou 250 and the Recon 250. Thanks.

Choose the Best on Earth, Honda. The Recon is an awesome bike. it is the same bike as my 1895 Fourtrax that we still use every year. Honda makes an awesome bike. I upgraded to a larger bike, a Foreman. Woody

I thought they used horses back then>
The recon is a good bike. A friend of mine has one for him and his wife and they have had no problems in the 4 years they have had them.

I know you asked about a 250 but spend the extra $$$ and get a 400. The extra power may come in handy and it will be a little bigger to haul stuff. Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Can Am.....all are good bikes. I personally have a 400 Yamaha and love it.

honda- out of the two you have listed fo with the honda. used to a honda 250 then went with a 350. that was years ago but they never had any problems that I can recall.

I rode a Honda Recon for over 5 years. Been to almost 14,000 feet in CO and many miles with me and my wife on board in CO and NM. Hauled a 150# buck on the back and a 125# doe on the front (at the same time) over hill and over dale with not problems.

I do agree that a little more horsepower is recommended. 4x4 is a plus but then again I never got the little red Honda stuck anyplace I could not carry it out. BTW that bike is still running and hauling a co-worker and his wife around.

Yamaha Bear Tracker. Plenty of power, smooth ride and they turn on a dime. I have owned two of them. Well, one was the Timber Wolf (same bike) I sold both for more than I paid for them. Wish I had the back. I was in the market for another one after I sold my Mule, but got a SUPER deal on a Grizzly 660. I know where you can get a 400cc Kodiak (like new) for the same price as a new 250cc. Give me a shout if you are interested.

In answer to YOUR question....The Honda Recon. Both of the atv's you listed are good quads with good records but I have a personal preference for the Honda's. Put some semi agressive tires on the rear and you will be surprised where you can go when the going gets muddy!

250 recon gets my vote I've had no problems. The 250 has done everything I have wanted it to and then some.
