    Anthrax in Uvalde

    Got this email:

Hello folks. Texas has its first confirmed anthrax case this year in Uvalde county. Although anthrax is naturally occurring in Texas , it is not usually a problem in the Brazos Valley area. The endemic area is in southwest Texas in the Rocksprings, Del Rio , Uvalde area.

TVMDL diagnosed anthrax in a white tail deer from specimens submitted from a Uvalde veterinarian. TAHC was also notified. I notified HSR-8 ZC Program.

This is in the anthrax endemic area of the State.

Never even knew that the state had such an area

Why does it reference the Brazos Valley area? The Brazos Valley is nowhere near Uvalde.

Lambert is the state biologist stationed in Hearne which is in the Brazos Valley, probably just wants to let the locals on the list know this is not something for them to worry about
