    Swaping shooting hand?????

I have a friend and fellow TBH'r (not here much) that just found out he has a shoulder and bicept injury. Neither is major but they want to do surgery and said its not got to be today but he has to lay off sports (softball swimming shooting his bow ). He wants to try to shoot right handed and I was wondering if any of you have ever changed shooting hands. He is a killer left handed and he is putting off surgery since he just brought home his twin girls 3 days ago.

Depends on his dominant eye. If he is left eye dominant, it might be difficult to shoot well RH. Another option would be to get a system called the RIPSHOT. it is difficult to explain, but it hooked to the releas and then the whole system is attached at your elbow and when you darw, it completely takes the hand, arm, biceps, triceps and shoulder out of play and makes you draw with the proper back muscles and hold with the proper back muscles. I have one and the first time I tried it, I almost could not get my 70# bow drawn back. With a regular wrist strap release, no problem. Just shows how much I do not draw with the right back muscles. This was invented by the gentleman for a friend that had shoulder problems and could not draw a bow with a conventional wrist strap release. Check it out on the net. it will amaze people if they could try it or new how it worked.
