    Generac Generators for home installation

I am considering having a Generac generator installed at our home and would like to hear from anyone who already has one installed at their home.

Do a search on home generators on here. There have been a few discussions lately.

decent sized house 13-17kw would be a guess.... get a tri fuel one.... especially if
you have natural gas at your house... then you can run gas, propane or nat gas...
sucks running out, and trying to get gas after a hurricane every day or so

                Why 60Kw? That's huge for a house.

I had a Generac in my first house...15kw I believe. Katrina hit 26 days after I purchased the house, (which already had the gen installed) and it ran like a champ for a week straight. I was very impressed, and my wife and I never tripped it during that week, and we were running a/c, washer/dryer/dishwasher, lights, tv....just like we would normally with regular power. Mine ran off LP, and having the big tank is the only con I can think of, but they can be run off nat. gas too. I would say do it, you won't be disappointed.

A company i rep in Reynosa makes the wiring harnesses for Generac. You should see the ones for hospitals & hotels.

A total back up system would be SWEET!!

There are a few 14kw on eBay for $2800.00.
                          I'm trying to decide between the 14 & 17kw.

$2800? All I will say is buyer beware. Make sure you know what you are getting. I am in the business and that is unbelievably cheap.

So, how big of one do you need to run the a/c, refrigerator, and possibly a couple of lights? Our home is only 2150 sq. ft.
