Tight point tri loc test results

Well after all the raves about these bh. I went out and bought some and finally got to stick something with them. On the last day of season I was in the stand early AM. Watched does vacuum the corn at the feeder and leave. By 9am I was kinda bored. I decided to rattle some horns. In came a spike and a button buck. Off they went when all went silent. I tried again 20 min later and more small bucks came in. I've never seen them so responsive. When the action finally went dry I headed to a stand where a know a big wide 9pt has a rub line. 30 min later I had him 9 yards away but was in the middle of my rattleing sequence. I didn't want to move alot so I hung the horns on my neck and picked up my bow. I drew on the walking buck and the left rattling horn hit the plastic seat and off the buck went. It's now 12:40 and I'm ready to go but I decided to try one more rattleing sequence. 7 deer come trotting up the hill from the neighbors property. No good bucks but a huge doe was in the group. They stood 30 yards away listening for the source. My doe offered a good shot but I had to thread two trees. I took my time at full draw. thwack it sounded good as she ran off she turned to show the lower mid portion was red. I sat in the tree and reviewed the shot. I hit her a little back and low. Maybe one lung and liver.

I found good blood the first 40 yards and then it dissappeared. My arrow was blood covered up front and dry in the back. I had a tough time but was able to track her by her hoof prints. I would find a drop near them every so often. The hill country white rocks helped as well as the blood would show up on them real well. 70 yards later I spot a small 8pt...he's acting strange...he knows I'm there but just paces a small area. Then I see the doe standing there. She looked pretty rough. I slowly nock the same arrow I hit her with the first time. I watched for a while thinking she would go down but she was just standing there breathing hard.I could see some intestines hanging out of the exit hole...I guess they blocked it up. I felt sorry for her so I put the arrow in the boiler room and she went down after another 30 yards.

I will post pics of the exit holes soon but the tri locs did OK...I think the 1.5 inch Lazer Strikes I normally use would killed her in lots less time though..of corse the lazerstrike would be destroyed after that one shot.

The tight point was in pefect shape. Even after blowing through the doe twice and hitting the rocky ground...still sharp too. Cant wait to see what theydo to hogs...Maybe I'll make a better shot next time. pic to come soon.

I don't think it was the broadhead amigo.....sounds like bad shot placement to me. "Low and back" won't get great results from any head.

Regardless, I'm glad you found her.
