    Stopping Break Ins

Hunting camp has been broken into twice in the last 8 weeks.

Any suggestions or thoughts on preventing it?

Appreciate the suggestions as we are getting tired of replacing broken windows and losing our personal items.

It seems it was Meth heads the first time and kids the second based on what was taken.

Set up infared trail cams and notify the sheriff and game warden. Good luck in your pursuit to stop the break ins...Brian

Looks like it's time for a stakeout!

sorry to hear this. I can't stand a thief. A thief is only limited by the time he's able to work on getting in. Knowing it's a hunting camp, they'll find ANY way to get in regardless of what preventative measures you put forward. Burglar bars bolted through the walls, cage door over the entry doors. If you have window unit a/c's, a bar bolted through the wall going across the INSIDE of the cabin will prevent them from pushing it in to get inside. Set up a couple of non-flashing trail cams around the cabin when you leave and see if you can get some pics. Another easy deterrent is to get some of the alarm system stickers/signs and post outside in the yard and on every window/door. Calling a thief's bluff sometimes is all that's needed. Best of luck to ya!

        x2 on the cameras.

Place a few post signs around the house and blinds saying:

"IF YOU CAN READ THIS, YOUR PICTURE HAS BEEN SENT TO MY EMAIL A MINUTE AGO"

        "CAMP PROTECTED BY LOS ZETAS"

Don't leave anything worth taking and don't lock nothing. Sad, but they got all the time in the world to steal/destroy the stuff you work for.

Buy anchor chain in 1 inch dia links and a MultiLock Israeli tank lock and lock both sides of the gate going into your lease. Then place a armored locking device on the lock itself to keep crack heads from wacking it and getting inside the gate, weld up the hinges so they can not be unbolted, then build a deer fence around your camphouse and do the same with the locks and deer gate going inside it, make it 8 foot high with bobwire on both sides and at the top of the netting wire, get some cheap solar powered nite lites from northern tool that are motion senored set off, if you have power there get a driveway alarm and rig it to a horn so when somebody drives up it honks right by their window in the crackhead truck, they will be so stoned they will drive back to the pawn shop and turn them themsleves in!!!!! Good luck!!!!

I agree with this. Locks are honest people, and they will not bother anything.
