Its a done deal! They have been trying to fight this for a while and they lost twice now! Ask almost any outfitter that has these critters and they will tell you they are trying to get rid of them as fast as they can so they don't have to go thru the permitting and logging process. Saw a place online selling addax hunts for $1,450. Usually, like the oryx, they cost $3,000-$5,000!!!

To answer your question its like rasing polar bears, cheetahs and rhinos, absolutley none of these critters can be hunted or any part of them transported into the US. You can't even import a cheetah skin, yet you can shoot them in Africa. Same goes for the polar bears. You can hunt them but you cant bring them here! So your answer is the game warden will enforce these laws just like he would for any thing else game related.

          Very nice Scimitar! Congrats!

Oh, I'm not doubting you at all. I'd just like to see how the actual law is written. Hopefully one of the local TBH Game Wardens will chime in and give us more info.

It is!!! They are smart at the Diamond C. Its definately not a canned hunt, but Skyler will make sure you get the opps at one for sure! He's got some monsters too. I think any thing over 40in is a gold metal animal and he's got some alot bigger than that. There was one bigger than the one I shot with him but I liked this ones horns better and he had better markings on his face. BOD!!! (big oryx down)!

Land rights have never trumped ESA.

I would hope "interested/ involved" parties will appeal. Worst case, make the feds buy the animals and sell them to the native countries, and make the native countries pay for shipping them back. Oh - that will cast a billion dollars and the native countries can't pay that, but that's ok, the American taxpayer will. That is so close to reality it is scary.
