Look for brushpiles on points or fish timber. Can't help on Lavon, I just fish Fork and that hasn;t been lately. My fish usually get finicky round 4th of July and I break out minnows. Rest of the year its all chenille jigs...

      I'd focus on 16-26ft water...

Lake Conroe. 17 to 20 ft on manmade brush. Jigs or minners, the perch don't discrimanate. Get right on top of them and fish vertical

Minnows are your friend! Spent many a night fishing with my Mom on Lake Vernon from sundown til 1-2 in the morning. Use a cork and fish em deep and enjoy the time.

We fish brushpiles in 20' to 30' water on our lake in the summer. Split shot and a minnow dropped straight down, and when we're down to our last 2 dozen minnows I'll switch to jigs and let the kids fish out the minnows! When we're on them, it's fast and furious. When we're not on them, the catfish and bass keep it interesting.

I like 6lb line on ultralight spinning rigs, so I can break off rather than pull up our brush. Not unusual to go through a dozen hooks/jigs or more. A 5lb cat or bass is really a blast on that light tackle too.

fine top of trees barely out of water and fish down beside them, depth around 25 feet, with minnows
