My dad may be getting on a lease because my mom wants to surprise him with it for Father's Day. He was asked to get on the lease by a long time friend & was leaning towards doing it anyway. He's familar with the place but I wanted to find out some info on it so I could help him out. He has never been on a lease because we have always had a place to hunt until the place was sold 2 years ago. My mom will be talking to the lease manager & wanted me to give her a list of questions that should be asked about the lease. I've already got several (lease rules, number of guest, animal allocation limits, bowhunting allowed, year around, etc.) I'd like to bounce this off others in case I've missed something important so give give me some more questions. Any other hunting allowed on the place in the off season, quail,hogs,hog dogging??
How are the neighbors? Good relationship?
Any refrences?.. great places always have good refrences..check ot BOA add in classified.
Are family allowed to hunt? and are children allowed?
Do they have a land owner liabilty release form? A hunter trapper needs one of these also.to protect their property.
How are the roads in wet weather? a good lease you cant get to will not do any good.

Management? Age requirements? If restrictions on kills, what constitutes a "cull" or "management deer"? Feeders allowed? If so, how many spots? Do you have your own areas or spots or can you hunt anywhere on the property? If you can hunt anywhere, how are daily spots decided? Draw? First come?
