Thanks Russ! I always wear long pants tucked into my knee boots. Spray the legs with jungle juice (high concentrate bug spray) on my way!

Nail polish, etc kill the itch due to sealing the area off from air. This helps with any type of mild allergic reaction. A fairly easy and quite easy method of relief is some bendryl gel and a few bendryl pills... within reason depending on how drowsy they make you. Its a lot like poison ivy, a lot of methods work if you think they work, the power of thought is quite scary sometimes.

mama said chiggers are just ornery because they got all them teeth and no toothebrush.

Who wants to take bets on how soon before the next post telling someone to paint fingernail polish on their chiggers to smother 'em?

Cheryl - I keep telling them - NewSkin works better than anything on the bites - it really does

but it is better to spray down you legs with DeepWoods Off - before you go stompin' through the woods

my coon huntin' granddad used sulfa powder on the legs of his pants

This is a great thread. I got into them at the lease last weekend, and this is good info.....It doesn't make the itch go away though.
