Need advice on Insanity work out. (craigs list)

Well I normally tell myself you get what you pay for, & boy did I get it.
I tried to save a dollar and buy the insanity workout program off of craigs list for half the price of what they were selling it for on TV. This was my first Craigs list purchase and it was from out of town. The person who was selling it said it was brand new and had never been opened. So I sent him a money order and he sent me the product. Well sure enough it was brand new still in the sealed plastic, but when I opend it and put it in the DVD player none of the disc will play.
I contacted the manufacter, but they said I need the account info to get it replaced. The seller says he has no info because it was given to him as a gift. So I asked him to give me my money back and now he is trying to crawl-fish on me.
What do I do? Do you think I've been had, or is this just a bad coincidence? This bad purchase has been going on for a month now and I am getting tired of dealing with it, but I do not want to loose my money.

My wife got the set and it will not play on all of are dvd players so try another player.

Do you mean it plays in some brands of players and not others or what? I thought it might be a blue Ray issue, but I tried it in my computer also and it still would not work.

Just let me know, since you're in Cypress I could always just burn you a copy and give them to you.

since they were sealed, id say they are legit. Try them in several players. They could possibly be burned copies, in which case players are fickle about playing them

Might be a codec issue.You could try downloading a free VLC media player online and it should work with that.Or,try another dvd player.

Well I feel like a big dummy. I tried playing the DVD's in my reguler old walmart DVD players and they would not work. I also tried to play them in my lap top with out success. But I took yalls advice and put them in my friends DVD player and they worked great. I don't know what the differance is but it looks like I will be going shopping tomarrow for a new player.

I plan on doing that first thing in the morning, a little to late to do it tonight. I never did get rood with him over the deal, but we were both getting frustrated after a month of dealing with this.
