Hey guys what kind of snake is this it was near a friends pool and swimming in it?

looks like a water snake, but the head is hard to see clearly. tell him to grab it and see if it bites him

Hard to tell from the pics but my first impression is that it is not a cottonmouth and probably a diamondback watersnake, broad banded watersnake or some other watersnake.

If it were near my pool, I'd take it somewhere else. Like to a pond or lake. They're not dangerous, just unpleasant to be around.
