I think it comes with age. The older I get, the less interested I get in killing. I still love to hunt, just not as obsessed as I used to be now that I'm almost 48 .

I've been bow only for over 20 years and I have more interest in hunting now then I did then. I have lost the interest in fishing, I used to fish over 200 days a year and now I have only went fishing once in the last three years.

I figured once I retired 8 yrs ago I would be at coast fishing all the time BUT havn't been there since I retired. I hunted every day with my longbow the hog and coyotes numbers thinned down around here for 4 years. I then took a job as ranch hand filling deer feeders halling corn ,cleaning out blinds, cutting cedar, planting food plots for the boss and I quit buying hunting licences........I have no desire to hunt or fish anymore since it became a job for me not fun anymore and relaxing................So now I am spending $175.00 per roll of Stay-Tite 735 6 wire to fence my place to keep the hogs out...............Andy

hasnt happened with hunting yet but getting there with fishing. I used to fish all out and try and catch as many fish as i could, but after fishing on Richland chambers for the last five years and limiting out almost every day on bluecats(if you try hard enough) i am officially burned out. The last couple times of catch fish, clean fish, catch fish, clean fish im like, to hell with this im ready to go back to work so i can have a break

Dove hunting to me has gotten too easy, to the point that the challenge is gone. I do like bird hunting with my dog, but once he retires, I'll more than likely guard the tailgate.

I can relate to this and would add I get more out of good company and seeing interesting things than the actuall shooting of game. Went to deep south Texas for the first time last year and spent the first afternoon sitting in the stand witha good friend, just visiting and watching animals. Didn't even load the guns.

Me too. My old fishing buddy died so I don't have the desire to go by myself.

Comes and go. Like anything a person can get burned out. With the exception of pigs, I don't necessarly enjoy killing things but more look for the experience.

I'm not tired of the hunting, but I've done enough killing.
When you have been around long enough, you figure out that the hunting (fun) stops when the animal is on the ground and the work starts.

Ummm....no!! If its in season, Im killing it. The actual hunt and the comraderie part are starting to mean a whole lot more to me than the actual killing though.

Nope, never happened to me before.
I get special interest on hunting for old deer.
                              I rather shoot a 6.5 yr. old buck scoring 120" than a 4.5 that's 150".
I know it sound silly but that's the way I do it.

OK, I have to say it. With the "situation" and loss of my dad after him being in the hospital, paralyzed for three months.....I didn't get to hunt much last year. Then we lost the best lease I have ever been on after 6 years. Then business took a turn for the worse and I am not sure about my financial future for the first time in 20 years. I am not even looking for a lease and have no desire to hunt anything this year. Maybe things will change in the coming months.
