    XM or Sirius?

    Dang it!

Got my mom's new GMC Acadia yesterday and fell in love with the XM driving it home to her. I have an 07 Acadia....but they deleted the XM during build. I think the antenna is there and the CAT button is on the radio but no luck! Should I

    A. go to dealer and see about installing factory

    B. buy a remote XM

    C. buy a remote Sirius----NFL!

I hate to have the wires all over the place what do you guys suggest?

My preference is to have it installed. I had a remote Sirius receiver in my previous ride...i hated it with all the wires all over the place. Got a new truck in August and this one has XM built in (and I added the Best of Sirius to get the NFL games - extra 2 or 3 bucks a month). I like my current set up much better. Its not the most cost effective but I'm happy with it.

neither I have had both and other than no commercials they still play the same things over and over...... and since they are together now, I couldn't imagine it has gotten any better.

I have XM because I drive a lot and don't like to have to keep finding new radio stations. I don't like satellite radio on a regular in-dash head unit because of the small display. I have the XM head unit on my dash but have the wires ran straight into the dash and to the stereo...so there's only about 3 inches of wire showing.

I used to have xm with a walkman like phillips dealio that had the cradle and all the wiring, self install...other than all the wiring and self install, I liked it compared to what I have now in my truck with the factory sirius because with the xm, at least then, I could listen online for free and most likely with iphone, however, with the sirius, no free online listening or smartphone...that is another payable to them....

as I understand it, they are one company now with two faces

I've had XM for several years and love it. Never thought I'd pay for radio, but $10/month is way worth it to me.

Man I cannot live without XM. FM radio is completely worthless. Sure there are some stations that are POP friendly and play the same stuff but many other channels play stuff you will not get on the radio. Add to that I get Texas Football anywhere with no reception problems. Comedy, Sportstalk....unbeatable.

I have XM but since both have the same programming now, it really doesn't matter which you decide to go with. I couldn't live without my Bluegrass Junction!

i recv'd a Sirius sat radio for Xmas 5 yrs ago.

i went ahead and paid the lifetime membership ($399)

best decision i ever did ...... i travel all the time and can't imagine going back to FM stations with poor reception in rural areas

mine is the portable model as i take it on vacation when i travel and use a rental , to the beach, in other people's cars , in the backyard by the pool, etc....

They are the same company. Made money before the merger, lost money after the merger. Sitting on about 10,000 shares right now. So please, buy it and tell all your friends so I can at least get back to even
