Been 1 Year...

I miss him too, Matt.

If it's any consolation, several years ago I was on a sabbatical in the Hill Country which involved a fairly long fast, isolation and much prayer. One morning I was sitting out by my little camp fire and God sent this supernatural wave towards me. It was a real, visible, palpable wave much like is portrayed in movies where a sonic boom or nuclear explosion comes towards the people and engulfs them. When it hit me a feeling of indescribeable euphoria totally enveloped me to the point that I could only weep for joy. (And I'm a pretty crusty old redneck, not given much to emotion) After a couple days (yes, days) of coming down off this God-high I went back into prayer asking God what just hit me. He told me it was his love, and to not worry so much about what I had really gone on the sabbatical for but to love others as He loves us.

My point in this little story is that if heaven is anything like that euphoric wave of love that rolled over me (and there's no doubt that it is) then our time "hereafter" cannot be described by any earthly words. John is there. Blaine is there. Many of our departed loved ones who were saved are enjoying their lives with the King. And it is SO much better than we ever had it in our fleshly bodies that I don't feel sorry for them, I'm jealous. So don't mourn, all you Lees. Be happy. Celebrate. John and the others, as they did here on earth, are just paving the way for us and finding the sweet spots.

Wow that says alot. It made me feel good for the first time about the loved ones I have lost.
