    Peep choices/alternatives

I've been bowhunting for three years now, so I'm relatively new at it. I have taken several animals and feel pretty good with a bow. The only thing that has been kinda a pain is the peep. I didn't go with the rubber string type in case it were to break in the field. I have a peep on my string that can't seem to stay straight so I have to turn it a little before every shot. Even when it is true, I don't feel real confident since I am left eye dominant and shoot right handed.

I ran across something called a HindSight in a hunting magazine. It basically eliminates the peep and makes it more like shooting a rifle scope.

Anybody ever heard of or used one? Any thoughts or experience with it would be appreciated.

First and foremost, stop shooting right handed if you are left eye dominant. You will be a lot more accurate and comfortable once you start shooting the way it is easiest to for your body. Hindsight is ok, but it will not fix the eye dominance issue you are dealing with. There is probably no product out there that will fix that. As far as the peep turning, you can take your bow to a shop and have them either reset the peep, or put a twist or 2 in the string to make that stop.

Droptine- I know what you're saying- I refused to put the rubber "straigtener" string on my bow to keep my peep straight for 3 years. I finally got tired of having to turn it ever single shot, and had the bowshop put one on for me. I can't tell you what a difference it's made in my accuracy and overall being relaxed during a shot. It has really improved my confidence. If you have never tried it, I might suggest doing that, as you can always take it off if you don't like it.

And like bow said above ^, I would fix the eye dominance thing first and foremost.

I have use the Hind Sight and it worked out pretty good for me. I put a red dot scope and eliminated the Hind Sight and really liked it. I am now using a Holographic style sight and it is great. I am a right handed shooter and left eye dominate but with this new sight I shoot with my left eye and can keep both eyes open. It is working out better than I expected.

Are there any other left eye dominate, right-handed shooters. Makes sense that I would shoot left handed but I do everything else right handed. Would feel weird even drawing a bow back left handed?!?!

DD you can PM aggie2000tx. He was a right hand shooter that was left eye dominant. He completely switched, and it took about a day to get used to it. And he has never looked back! Even to the point of buying a new hunting and target bow left handed. he still does everything else right handed, just shoots left. It can be done, and you will be a better shot for doing it IMO!

I am left handed, do everything left handed....but I have known my dominant eye is my right. I found this out playing baseball, guess thats why I never made it as a hitter lol. But last year when I went to buy my first bow, I found it so much easier to shoot right handed. I now have a right handed bow. This isnt the case with you but its sort of the same. I was definitely stronger left handed but it was easier to shoot/see right handed and now my strength is the same through practice. Glad I didnt go with a left handed bow.

I have never had a problem with my peep sight moving. It never has moved. I wouldnt know how to shoot without it. Go get an archery store to put it on for you.

when i teach shotgun shooting i have people with dual dominant eyesight to just place a small circle of chapstick on their shooting glasses. it helps focus the other eye. IMHO i would look into shooting a left handed bow. how do you shoot a rifle or pistol?

I would suggest making the switch, it will feel so much better and u will be 10x more comfortable.
