Any one ever hunted 10 miles north of Childress, tx on the red river? A friend found a place that is in that area thinkin bout jumpin on, wanted to see if anyone had any info about that area? thanks

Ought to be some big deer in that area, but I have not personally hunted there.

Hunted on the far west edge of Hardeman county in the early '90's, great place with lots of game. Back then there was not alot of deer, but the ones taken were 150+. Great turkey/quail and pig hunting. Most places along the red River should be really good hunting.

What is the going price per acre now?

on the river Rocks! Do it! Got a buddy on the river near Seymour and its a wildlife mecca! GOOD LUCK!

I hunted spring turkey in that area in the '90's. It was great for turkey and also saw some large bodied deer and hogs. It's a good area if you're in the market for a lease.

I have hunted that area a few times - it always makes me want to go back.

Have hunted north and south Childress County. I think it is one of the best kept secret in Texas. Has both Muley and Whitetails plus turkey. If you don't want on it let me know. Best part of county is around Kirkland to the River. Not a lot of deer compared to Hill Country but bigger in size and the chance of finding a good one is better. Good Luck, My "new best Friend."

Had a lease last yr south west of childress about 30 miles, wasnt good at all. just wanted to get some imput on that property north of childress, well we are goin to look at it maybe this weekend let yall know what we think
