I was on empty, so I stopped at a Shell station on I45 at Dixie Farm Rd.
Granted.....Im not a fan of Shell. I had a buddy that was long range recon in Nam and he found himself in an NVA camp one mornin. The drums of fuel that he seen had vietnamese writing on them, with the Shell logo painted on them.
Anyhow!
I stopped at the pump and swiped my card. The only option was "debit". So...I entered my pin number. Nuthin happened. So....I went inside. The boy at the counter told me the pump wasnt workin right.
In my head....I went from spendin $50 on a fill-up to $10 on a splash of gas. I gave him my card and told him just $10.
I went outside and pumped it. The pump then asked me ifin I wanted a reciept. I already had one from inside, but I figered 2 was better than 1!
I read the receipt and it said that it charged me $10 for fuel and $2.41 for tax! What the......???? They cant charge me for tax!
I decided to go inside and mess with the little dude. I splained to him that tax is included in the cost of the gas in the US.....although it may not be in whatever 3rd world country that he was from.
He hadnt Actually charged me for tax. I just thought it strange that the pump said I did. Everbody in the store was checkin their receipt!
Good times! I may go back for more tomorrow!
