you carry a full size 1911 regularly? That is a big pistol to be hauling around all the time.

cocked and lock is how the pistol was designed to be carried , you are prob used to pistols without external hammers. it has a thumb actuated safety & a grip safety , it cannot go off unless you manually disengage the safety , grip the gun & pull the trigger. all the glocks & spingfields are carried cocked you just cant see the hammer
