MET A NEW GUY AT WORK WITH SOME ACREAGE OUT THAT WAY. HE IS GONNA GIVE ME FREE RANGE OF THE PROPERTY! i'VE NEVER BEEN OUT WEST SO I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS, JUST CURIUS HOW THE HUNTING IS OUT THAT WAY? WHAT OTHER ANIMALS CALL THIS HOME BESIDES WT? HE SAYS THERE ARE OIL RIGS ON THE PROPERTY HOW IS THIS GONNA AFFECT THE HUNTING? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I know a group of guys that hunted west of Ozona for several years.......... and all they did is HUNT!! That did very little kill-un!! I think the biggest buck they took may have been 120's. Very dry and very little brush where they hunted.

Do you know what side of Ozona and about how far? Mulies I believe are west and/or southwest of Ozona. The deer should be used to the oil rigs and the personnel that come check it. It just puts the chance of poaching more into play, but hey if you get to hunt there for free than you shouldnt be too worried or picky about the place. It's all gravy!

There can be some good 140+ class deer in that area on a well taken care of (not shot out) place.

We hunt out there. Saw a lot of good animals. Depending on where his place is, there can be tons of turkey. Where is the place in relation to Ozona?

If there is water on the place, then you will have Turkey, Whitetail, Muley, Javelina, and exotics. Water is definitely the key, as it is extremely dry out that way.

I hunted in Ozona (specifically Big Lake) for 3 yrs - we had a lot of whitetail, quail and turkey. There were some mulies moving in, plus a few exotics. And yes, water is key b/c it is very dry out there - a dry summer can wreck havoc on the game.

We hunt 30 min NW of Ozona and have lots of deer, turkey, and javelina. We have deer in the 140's. We don't have mulies though
