Well I got him identified. Apparently my neighbor decided to come over to my camphouse on Sunday to fix a leaky sink and he had this kid with him. The kid comes from a broken home, and my neighbor has taken him and his brother under his wing to help them get to know the outdoors. So while my neighbor worked on the sink, the kid wanted to go out and explore.

This! I wouldn't just let it go. Alot of folks on here that think it's completely innocent wouldn't feel that way if came walking down there right of way on opening morning. If he dosen't know its wrong now, what makes you think he will know then.

If he came walking down my right-a-way on opening day, it would be a total different story (and I said so in a earlier post). No doubt the kid is aware that it is the middle of the summer, and would likely not be there during hunting season.

True! My Brothers and I roamed miles and miles hunting and exploring and fishing in Stock tanks as kids...No one ever said a word.

I was thinking the same thing. I could not tell you how many miles I logged walking creeks. Some of the best memories of my youth.

Unfortunately times have changed from when we were kids.........

Besides trespassing and possibly poaching more importantly he is a liability risk to the property owner.

If nothing else down the road if there is a lawsuit because the kid broke his leg on the property the land owner will have something to show the court that he tried to address the potential hazard.

IMHO it is better to address the situation now to try and stop the incursion.

They wouldn't win if I were on the jury. A little reform is what we need. If you sue and lose you should have to pay the defendant however much you were suing for.

This is about par. A decently dressed youngster that is out for a stroll, yes without permission to be there and may not know better, but never the less there, folks get all ruffled up about it. If it was an illegal you would leave food and water for them and praise yourself for helping them! I really do not understand. You don't want to help out a young man that may be a promising young hunter if handled properly, that some day may be able to pass on the kindness to another youngester who has the desire but no role model at home. Sorry, I just don't get it.

Kid, teenager, young man or grown-up; it still ain't right. Hope you figure this mess out Buzz. Teach him a lesson. I have been having the same problem at my property. There is a dry creek that runs through my property, that people think they are allowed to travel on. Have been seeing 4 wheeler traffic and had one tc pic last year. If I catch them, the Game warden will definitely be coming out.

OOOooooooo. Why are you so defensive? Fourwheelers, yeah I can see the problem. If they are on foot w/o firearms or hunting equipment then I don't get it. If you do find them and they have guns or bows just ask 'em what they are doing and not to tear anything up. If they are in your prime spot ask 'em to hunt a different area. Love thy neighbor.

Maybe y'all can get him prosecuted as an adult for being a kid and sent to prison and pay a few thousand dollars in fines too.

Actually, if I had come walking up on me I'd help him get out of the woods safely and tell him that it be better if he didn't come back.

He is trespassing and that shows a lack of respect for others personal property.............Why can't most of you understand that? Lack of respect for others and their property is a big part of society's problem. I had thousands of acres of family land to roam around on growing up, but my dad made me every year go and ask permission from my great aunt if it was still ok for me to hunt, fish, ride horses, and do whatever on her property. Permission was always granted just like she would allow anyone who asked (even if she didn't know you) to do the same. Now if you didn't ask you were getting a quick visit from the game warden and the sherriff..............

Doesn't matter the age of this person. Trespassing is Trespassing. I think a first step would be to find out who it is and let them know you don't apperciate them being on you place without permission. If they so desire to come onto your place they need to ask first and respect you answer...............

Because we yearn for the old days when everyone acted neighborly and would welcome you onto their pasture. Is it tresspassing? Sure. However, if there is no malice and/or misconduct I don't have a problem with it.

I am 25. Not old by any means. Growing up I "gained" access to lots of land. Fences were mere a new challenge in the pursuit of game and fish. I had lots of folks...farmers, ranchers, and hunters stop me. They all said the same thing. Do your folks know where you are? Do you know how to use that bow, pelet gun, 22 ? Would you please leave the place better than you found it and stay out during deer/elk season? And please enjoy yourself. Thank you to all who supported my outdoor learning growing up. Sad Sad world we livin in.
