    Espn

I am thinking about not watching espn anymore...I think sometimes that I am watching another episode of cops..It seems that everyday one more of them too rich athletes are getting in trouble for something and then getting pity because they had to be on probation during the offseason or some other too leaniant punishment...how do you all feel?

That is what happens when you get a young person without any raising getting all those big bucks. They don't have a clue what to do with it and or how to handle themselves also. Just goes to show that money being thrown at someone causes more problems than it solves.

Well it takes all kinds to make the world go around. Without folks like that Spur wouldn't have a job.

Just remember that for every 1 bad athlete you hear about there are 100's of others doing good things going unnoticed.

Ok, easy to pic on athlete's but we all know how ALMOST anyone with enough money get's the same treatment. We see it everyday in small towns, big towns, city's etc. so why should an athlete be any different. Yes, they should be role models for kids but kids will also learn OTHER people with money or importance fail (politicians,,,Bill. t.v. evangelist etc.). Does that make it right? No. ESPN tells the story it is up to us to decide what is right and wrong and teach it to our kids.

The media in general only shows the bad things that happen in the world! Ever watch the news? For every good thing they report on the news, there are 15 horrific stories broadcast. Espn is only doing their job as to what should be reported, what is interesting to the public! David Robinson or Tom Brady donating $1M bucks to cancer research is not interesting. Ricky Williams failing a drug test or Pacman Jones firing his glock outside a strip club is interesting news to the majority of the public. Remember, "A person is not stupid! People are stupid!"

                  hehehe

I thought this thread was gonna be about Spurs destroying the Jazz and winning the western conference and all ESPN could talk about was Kobe wanting to be traded.

Very true cosmic, noone likes the spurs because they aren't "Entertaining." They play basketball the way all teams should play any sport.....Like a TEAM! All professional sports are about individuals and what each individual person can do. The spurs have great individuals who play as a team! Kobe is the biggest "individual" in sports, he will never win another championship and he is the biggest crybaby in sports!

I personally find the Kobe stuff to be hilarious.

He wanted to be THE MAN in LA and he got exactly what he wanted.

Now he can win the NBA scoring title every year and then get a comfortable seat in front of his hi-def big screen and watch the playoffs.

I laugh every time I think about it.

He did not want to be the man in LA, if you are referring to him pushing Shaq out of LA, that is a myth. Shaq was pushed out because he was getting older, not working out much with and without the team, getting fatter, and not caring anymore. It was a front office decision. The Lakers have not delivered on the promises to Kobe to build around him, and they have had the chance. Kobe is a baby, but he is the best player in the sport. Personally, I do not like pro basketball, but I keep up with the news of the players.
