        I use the first knuckle and back tension, just try to minimize the amount of rollover I have over the target with my breathing and no think about when the shot is gonna happen, I almost want it to be a surprise.

        What exactly is punching by the way, I just read about it in Bow & Arrow Hunting and had no idea what they were talking about.

          I also use the first knuckle however my bow is about a 1/4" short so that allows me to push with my bow arm without fully extending it while i pull back using back tension to release the shot.

            I always have used my first knuckle...seems to work so far so I think i'll stick to that!

                I was looking at releases today thinking that I might buy a Scott release. I tried several on and noticed that the trigger was WAY too close to my palm to use my first joint. I thought maybe Scott releases were made for smaller hands until I saw this video. Now I wonder if maybe they are MADE to be used with the second joint?
