    Release question...

I am thinking of switching over to a palm type release such as the Winn C10 or similar. Any disadvantages or advantages to this type of release?

Winn Archery Equipment Co's Free Flight Bow Release. C10 C12 Loop Hook & Relax trigger bow hunting releases. Better than TRU-Ball, Tru-Fire, Carter & Scott Arrow Releases

I tried one for an afternoon of shooting and didn't like it. It may have been too small for my hand but I felt too restricted. And if you've seen the movie, the replacements with Keanu reeves, I felt like the reciever with the ball glued to his hands.

interesting. does it tuck inside the padded part in the palm?

I think if it stays in that position it would drive me crazy climbing my stand or just grabbin something.

I've been shooting the Grizzly by True Fire for about 11 years now. It is very similar to the Winn FF. I've had/have three of them. I tried the Winn on and it didn't fit my hand as comfortably as the Grizz. The only complaints I have about the Grizz are: 1) When new, the Grizz is fleece lined and can feel rather warm in warm weather. But that changes as it is worn over time and the fleece worn down. I often take mine off and keep it in a handy pocket as it takes up palm room when trying to handle other equipment.

As for shooting: Gives me a little more "edge" on the draw by gripping the center peice (more draw-n power). The calipers/trigger are fully adjustable. Head rotates 360 degreese. Has a draw belt with latch to fit wrist, but not a buckle or velcro system. That makes it easy to put on and synch down ready for the shot.

Ive recently aquired a True Ball T-handle release, The Diamond Pro Extream. True Ball also makes a "V-strap" that attaches to some of their T-handle releases, wich I also got it from our sight sponcer Archery Pro Staff. That way I can get the benifits of T-handle with the added pulling power of the buckle strap. But I don't have to "hold" the t-handle as I do the True Fire Grizzly . I am going to have to get longer draw modules to use the Diamond Pro Extream as it has a shorter neck and increases the draw legnth by about 1/2" or slightly more. Untill then, I'll keep kill-n pigs with the Grizzly.

          Thanks guys!

TG, if it has a shorter neck, how does it INCREASE the draw length over your Grizzly? I am considering either one like the Grizzly or one of the T-handle models.

If I keep the same anchor point, and with the neck shorter, the string comes back further, there by increaseing the draw length. I'm shoot-n a 28" now with the Grizz. And I wll need a 28.5 or 29" with the Pro Diamond Extream. The regular Pro Diamond dose not have the shortened neck. My bow has some draw length adjustibility to it; Elite Judge; but uses modules in 1/2" increments to get you in the ball park.

If your out this way in the next 3 days, maybe we can find a place for you to try one I have out. Just let me know.

I must admit, I do have a fondness for the Grizz . But I thougth I'd give a T-hadle a whirl again. I used one many many many moons ago.

I'm going to be near a GM tomorrow and I'm going to see if they have one I can try out. Not sure if they will do that or not. If not, I may very well take you up on that since I don't want to drop $100 into a release that I won't like.

Is it harder to draw a 70lb bow with a T-handle than it is with a wrist strap?

I find it easier to draw when I've got something to "grip". Others may disagree.
