Things that make you go hmmm??

OK, so this past weekend Dad and I have a plan to meet some workers to build a caliche pad around the trailer to help with the dust / mud and really just to improve our campfire...well, it's been raining a bit down this way and camp is looking alot like the amazon. We get the help situated and decide to take drive up to what we call 'oilfield hill' and I see the tractor has the shredder on it and tell Dad, I should clean up camp.

I hop on the jdeer and head my way to camp...I turn the corner of the shooting range and notice we have an over-heating issue. I shut down the tractor at camp and call in to let the ranch know.

Fast forward to today...JD (PoacherPatrol) calls to tell me be careful (I'm Allergic) and that a hive of bees moved into one of the trailers and stung his boy Cody and he also smushed some tying to get him at the same time while trying to pick up his trailer for the off season.

...I think I'll get my epi-pen updated just in case.

Now maybe the water-pump went out OR maybe my angel was looking out for me but I know for certain that I would have stirred them up on my first perimeter pass. Kinda creepy & cool both.

I got a crazy tiggle through my whole body when I read that.... It was deffinitly an Angel.
Woke up this morning to the only bug I fear, crawling up my arm. (Scorpion) stung my finger when I brushed him off. I'm still typing, so I guess I'm not allergic. thank god.

I wish I could remember these stories when my husband gets mad about something breaking down. Glad to hear God intervened on your behalf.

                        Clean that screen man!

Once I was brush-hogging and bumped an old round bale, out came the bees. That Kubota will not outrun a bunch of angry bees!

Its nice that it worked out that way. One of the most valuable country boy lessons I learned from my grandfather was about brush hogging and wasps/bees/hornets. Eventually you are unlucky enough to run over a nest and stir'em up. Now I think most people's instinct is to gun it and get the heck out. My grandfather taught me to stop, throw it in reverse, and back right back over wherever they were coming out of. Hornet vs brush hog blade = no contest. Of course if you have no idea where they were, well... there's always the stock tank
