    S. TX ranch trip

Well we got back last night from the ranch in S. Tx and only in time to see more rain. I thought I would never say this but I am tired of seeing rain. In the past week our place down there recieved a wopping 8 inches of rain. Needless to say all the tanks and water holes are over flowing and the ground is very saturated. We found that out the hard way when we got the back hoe stuck in one of our senderos. Without the bucket on the front and back we would have been in bad shape. Had another little suprise when checking one of my trail cameras. I had bent down on my knees to mess with the camera when one of my buddies hollered out that there was a rattlesnake. WHat he felled to mention was that the rattlesnake was about 2 feet from where i was kneeling. The snake never rattled up until I put to shots from my .44 into him. HE was about 5 feet long and had 13 buttons on his rattle. Definitely made for an interesting afternoon. HEre are some other photos from the trail cam as well that I thought were interesting.

I was going to Russ but with it being memorial day weekend and all I was lucky to get done what I did before we had to go and do all the family stuff. Besides getting the back hoe out was part of a day wasted in its self. I will give you a shout next time we are down.

Nice stuff HCH...We haven't killed one rattle snake this year which is really surprising but I'm not complaining!!!

My brother-in-law went to the ranch this weekend and he said we received almost 5" on Friday and another 2.5" on Sunday so we are still soaked at our place down the road from you!
