One of the first posters said " you have to develope an eye for it" that is absolutely true and something I haven't been able to do. Have found a few, found two on one hunt about 3 feet apart. Once you find one in a given area......look for the same color of stone for a clue to find the next one.

Ought to be some good arrowhead hunting this weekend too after all of the rain last weekend in and around the Graham area. We will be doing a little looking between hunts!

Its funny you say that because I've always scoured the ground when I walk. I wasn't taught to do it, just something I've always done. One day here at work, the owner stopped me and asked me "Hey Michael, what color is the sky". I looked at him puzzled for a minute as I thought this was some strange test. Then it dawned on me what he was saying. My response to him was, "I've never found anything worth keeping in the sky". He didn't really know what to say to that.

Wish I could just find an arrow head now.

I have a friend my age - mid-60s, who had hunted and fished all his life and never found a point. Was on my lease south of Cotulla and I showed him where to look and what to look for. Now he's "like a mule eating briars". Knowing what a piece of "worked chert" looks like is the first step. And, don't look for the whole point, just tips and corners, etc. Pick up every piece that looks like a point--I carry a Crown Royal bag to stick 'em in. On the lease, everyone told me I'd kill a lot more deer if I looked up once in a while, but I'd rather find a good point than kill a good buck.
