Recently bought a Tundra with a salvage title. Some banks won't loan on one, some will only loan a portion. When you buy it they are supposed to provide a statemement of what was repaired. Selling it later will be more difficult than without a salvage title, but I plan on keeping mine for many years, so not concerned about that. Vehicle price should be a bit lower than an equivalent without.

If doing it again I would inquire into not only what was repaired, but who repaired it to see if it was done by a reputable business.

I got mine WAAAAYYY cheaper than an equivalent, and you can't tell by looking at it or driving it, but,

      BUYER BEWARE

Having dealt with the buying and selling of motor vehicles for quite a while I would say, with all due respect, forget resale as a purchase consideration. Salvage titled vehicles in texas are difficult to get anything above basic liability and are often near impossible to sell for anything more than 20-30% shy of wholesale book.
Not that I'm saying you shouldn't buy it! Just be sure you really want it for you and not as a regular purchase that you're hoping to retain any value. Often Salvage "Cherries" (Great looking cars) are flood vehicles or hurricane claims from the east coast or LA. (Especially Katrina) that were totaled as a matter of necessity due to high water at the time. After these vehicles dry out and are detailed, the only way to know is take up the sill plate under the door and check under the carpet for mud. Hope that helps...

I've been driving my salvage titled 2002 Superduty since November 2002.
The bank financed it without any questions.
I've had full coverage insurance on it since the day I bought it.
I don't feel that I've done any repairs that I wouldn't have done on any other truck.

It all depends on who & how it was fixed. I have 1996 2 door Tahoe with salvage title. Drove it for several years, now it sits in my garage with 217k miles on it & still runs. Getting ready to sell me F350 & start driving it again.

It really needs to be cheap, on a $25K clean title truck it needs to be priced at about $16K if it has a salvage title unless you plan on keeping it for a long time. I have bought 2 corvette Z06 with salvage titles, I bought them cheap and when I sold them I made good money on both, always remember you make your money on a vehicle when you buy it not when you sell it.

I had no trouble getting full coverage ins and I'm sure if you have good credit you will have no problems getting it financed, if you you have any problems with financing pm me and I will take care of that part for you as long as you have good credit.
