I have an Edge CTS on my PS. Has multiple power levels and monitors all the "vitals". Plug and Play on gas engines. A little pricy compared to others, but I like the monitoring ability and being able to change power levels for what I am doing.

I think he's got a gas burner in the F-150 so the chip would be different than diesel engines aren't they? My son took a programmer off his Mustang...wonder if it would work on my 1/2 ton Ford? Hard to find chip that won't hose warranty I've heard.

all depends on the years in reference to the compatibility...I used to have a tweecer for my 90 mustang but it worked on tons of stuff....wish it would work on the new stuff...

in reference to an 07f150, I had a superchips flashpaq on mine, I think there is a new one for those and newer called cortex. the flashpaq on the 07 woke it up some, not much you can really do with it though in comparison to getting a custom chip job...

I was highly surprised when I traded my 07 in on an 09....the 09 stoick performed better than the 07 with the tuner...

all depends on what you are after and how much you want to pay.

I reprogrammed my 01 Dodge RAM with a HyperChip unit several years ago. After several tanks of gas, it noticeably increase the performance (acceleration, tightened-up the transmission shift points, and there is one he**ish grade that runs several miles that I was able to accelerate in the left lane, instead of hanging-on in the right like before) BUT it did not improve my gas mileage 1 bit so I un programmed it and returned it to AutoZone for a full credit. Talk to the local AZ store manager and ask if you try it and it does not work, will they honor their 30-day satisfaction guarantee and accept the return- the guy out here did it with no problem.

I run an Edge evolution on an 04 F-150 FX-4.

I run it on level 2 tow mode and it does change the shift points and feel a little perkier . I don't think it was worth the cashola in the end.

One thing I do like is watching the data on the fly. Right now I look at Average miles per gallon, instant miles per gallon, tranny temp & lube oil temp.- all 4 are real time digital read-outs .

Watching these gauges has done nothing for me other than giving me something else to look at.
WHEN the "tuner" went tits up on me twice I was in a bad way with a truck that didn't want to run worth a poot. I had to pay Ford (edge reimbursed me) to reflash my computer since their tuner told my computer I was running some whacked out gear ratio -that doesn't exits (62:1 or something like that) on its way south to locking up with no data on the screen. This ruined a trip to the lease and shut me down until it was resolved.

After all that crud (and a new tuner provided by Edge) I do still run it though,
I noticed a whopping .75 mpg gain in fuel economy with the evolution AND a K & N filter. ( I check each tank and that was the average increase).

I have an edge For my 06 f150.
The main reason i got it was for the speedometer correction since my truck has had the gearing changed and lifted with 35's.
                  It works great for that.
Like davec said the data on the fly is also great.
I run mine on lv 3 with 93 fuel and noticed i big change in horse power.
In all i would recommend it.
