    New Bow

I am looking at buying a new bow after not bow hunting for several years. I went yesterday and looked at a Bowtech Sniper. Not wanting to drop 700.00 on a Mathews thats barebone. Any suggestions on any other resonably priced bows? Any help would be appreciated. I have a 31" draw if that makes a difference.

Agreed, great "gently used" bows are always coming up in the classifieds.

If you'd like to shoot a brand new one, I'd encourage you do go check out some of the Bear bows out there. They are good quality and won't break the bank at the same time. Thats what my dad has always shot and he is a big believer in the fact that he doesn't want or have to spend the big time coin on a bow to take deer.

I bought my first bow at the end of last year and was in your same situation. I have a 32" drawlength and couldn't spend a ton of money. The Bowtech Sniper was exactly what I got. Don't know how tall you are, but I shot a lot of different bows and they all just felt to small. Since it is the only bow I've ever had I can't tell you if it's the best one for you, but so far I love mine. Actually I had to put a string loop on mine even at 32". Not sure how many different bows can be adjusted out to 31" like you need.

Take a look at the new G5 bows. They have several models that are solo cam and shoot really well.

the best think is to go to any local shops and shoot some,,, were are you located? i imagine someone on here can point you to some shops...

as far as price bowtech, mathews and hoyt lead the way in high prices,,, martin, pse, and parker all make very good bows with a variety of styles and prices... you can easily get a new bow with warranty,,, if your not familiar with the newer products do yourself a favor and dont buy used unless you and the seller are friends ,, cause their are people who will sell you a messed up or even broken bow and disappear with your money

Bowtech bows are great, and a little cheaper than Matthews. I love mine.

Nothing wrong with the sniper, I have a friend that has one and its a nice bow. I have shot it several times and have seen a few animals fall to that bow. Go shoot one and see how you like it.
