    crossbow bowfishing finished!

So for those of yall that have been keeping up with my threads on this Bowfishing crossbow extravaganza for my girlfriend, I have finally purchased and set up a crossbow for Bowfishing. I have thus far only made one fiberglass Bowfishing bolt because I have been experimenting with a couple different methods but ended the day with a good set up. I am going to post pics of the progress I have made thus far for those who are interested. I dug all around the forms looking for info on crossbows set up for Bowfishing but did not have to much luck so I will post these pics for those who have an interest in the future in finding creative ways of setting up crossbows for Bowfishing. I have zeroed the bow in and you can hit a 50 cent sized object with a Bowfishing arrow with attached line form a considerable distance (yikes she will probably out shoot me now). I will post pics of are next outing with it and hopefully some results maybe even a video of bringing down the house on some fish. She is excited about the bow and is insisting I make her some pink arrows.

    Thanks for reading

I'm surprised the line pays out on that reel with it mounted side ways? Cool set up! Good luck!

Looks kinda dangerous to me, forget to push that synergy button once and you got yourself a problem. Be carefully buddy, I've seen snapbacks first hand and they normally end with a trip to the er.

yeah... I'd figure out how to rig an AMS reel on there, or just an open
bale.... or run some pretty light line that would snap if the reel didn't
                    release or the line hung...

I would wear a face shield and a bullet proof vest (plates not kevlar) with that

If you could somehow fabricate a bracket/mount for the reel closer to the front, and also point the reel in the direction of the bolt flight,I think that would work better. I assume the line comes around the foot stirrup and lays under the bolt when cocked? As long as you dont forget to push the reel button I dont see any problem. I wouldn't use line heavier than 12 lb test in case you did forget to push the button.
