ATV Title Question

Got a question for you ATV TBH people.

My father-in-law gave me a 4 wheeler 4 years ago as a Christmas present. It was his 4 wheeler that he no longer needed after he purchased his Chinese truck. He lives in Louisiana, I live in Texas. Im looking to sell this 4 wheeler now but have questions about if I need a title to transfer during the sale, OR will a Bill of Sale work?

Most ATVs do have a title. However, since the ATV is not a street legal device, the title is more of a formality than anything. I do not know if there are any laws regarding sales of an untitled ATV, but if you ever wanted to trade it into a dealer, they may require the title.

Perhaps someone else can give some legal advice.

titles are always best, but bill of sale should work, without title id get it notarized though, and both parties sign
