DYI Hog Stick – Hubbard Version

What we bought: Total was under $36 for each stick.

    1 - 5’ stick of 4” PVC
    1 - 4” PVC Female Adapter
    1 - 4” PVC End Cap
    1 - 4” PVC Plug
1 - Small Can of PVC Glue
    1 - 5/16” x 4” Eye Bolt
    2 - 5/16” Cut Washers
    2 - 5/16” Locknuts
    2 - 5/16” D-Rings
    1 - 2” steel Ring
    1 - 6’ Tee Post
    1 - 5/16” x 6’ Steel Cable with Loop Ends
All purchased at Lowes and Home Depot [had to get to both to get exactly what I wanted]

We drilled 3/8” holes, four times on each side of the stick, equally spaced. Drops corn like a dream. When we put the eye Bolt in the PVC Plug, we went all the way down with the first Locknut, then washer, then thru the plug, then another washer, and another Locknut, essentially fabricating our very own swivel. The Ring slides of the Tee Post and you connect the Cable to the Hog Stick and Tee Post ring with the D-Rings.

We just put them out so we will have to see how well they do. Have them in two locations, so I will keep y’all updated.

Just corn for the first run. We shall see how they responded in a few weeks. Also plan on getting a camera on them to see if they do use them, when. Gonna do my best to poke one of them with a pointy stick very soon. :-)

That was kind of my thinking in going with reg corn in these tubes. We also put some of the Corn/Strawberry mix out but not sure it was quote rotten enough to draw them in.

I will let you know in a week and a half. I hope they last longer than that. LOL.
