Found Money!!!! well kind of

So i worked on my taxes this weekend and after deductions got it down to not paying very much. I was using Tax Slayer. I decided to review them again tonight before filing. I was reviewing other taxes and it was adding extra money into my calculations. I started reviewing everything and turns out when I put in my wife's W2 I coded her 401k deduction as tip income

Well lets just say I am very happy and after telling my wife how much we are getting back Mamma is happy too!!!!!!! I guess me leaving for the weekend to go turkey hunting is ok with her now

There was a segment on the news last night about taxes.
They said that if you get a refund, you're taking out too much and giving the government an intrest free loan, all year. You should rather, plan out your witholdings so that you pay in a small amount at the end of the year.



Hoooey ... I still like getting a refund; I don't miss the extra money taken out throughout the year.

I love my refund every year... If I had less deductions im sure i would just blow it throughout the year, whereas with a refund I have a larger amount to blow on more expensive things like a new bow
