I'll make a very long story short, but I thought y'all should hear this story...
I was at the Bow Zone sort of just hanging out and checking out all the new bows. I told Richard and Brian that if they ever made one of those Monsters that had a long draw length I was gonna get me one... well Brian reached up on the rack and took out this new Monster 7.0... I made the mistake of holding it... He and Richard set it up with a set of 31" modules, stuck a rest on it so I could shoot it... I did, and that was another mistake... Fast forward, I bought the bow, put a QAD rest on it, and by that time it was getting late so we called it a night... next day, I started trying to shoot it, and flat could not make the arras fly worth a hoot. I took it to Richard, and he tried everything... no luck. I was disappointed to say the least. Richard sent the thing back to Mathews with one of my arras taped to the string. He even sent it rush delivery. I waited anxiously for a week, then called only to find out that Mathews had gotten the bow, but had not even begun to look at it... I was disappointed again, but oh well. A week later, I found out that "they had to order parts!!! Heck it was a brand new bow.. why in the world would they need to order parts???!!! Don't they manufacture bows, or what??? While all this was going on, I had ordered me one of those fancy Spot Hogg sights with the different size pins and the wrap... all the bells and whistles. Finally after more than 3 weeks, Richard called me today to tell me that he had my bow back and it was shooting bullet holes... I couldn't wait to get to the Bow Zone this evening! Sure enough I got there, and he was right, the thing was shooting bullet holes, was fast and quiet. I never really expected that they'd be able to make me happy with it... But thanks to Richard, I am a happy camper. The thing shoots my 500 grain arras 300 feet per second, with 97 Ft-lb of kinetic energy. Now that fancy sight sells for about $170 bucks, but Brian told Richard to give it to me for $100 bucks to help compensate for all the trouble I had to go through!! I can tell y'all that I'd NEVER buy another Mathews bow because of their poor customer service, but as long as the Bow Zone sells them, at least Mathews has a chance to sell me another one... I can't wait to stick me a big ol pig with that thing, then come September it's too bad for Mr. bull elk in New Mexico!!
A big public thank you to the Bow Zone and Richard and Brian for going above and beyond!!
Mathews should thank them too for saving them a customer, one that has either bought or cause others to buy no telling how many Mathews bows.
