dang were did the time go ? 40 years ago tonight we heard the words "HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM?" it was apollo 13 most of ya on tbh even born yet the only way you know about it is the tom hanks movie but for those of us that were there that night the whole world was hoping and praying they came home safe. And we got them home job well done.!!!

I was 13 and a bit of a space geek. I remember well the family gathered around the TV for the latest report. I remember some of the "experts" interviewed giving them a 25% chance of making it back. Some of my actual memories are muddied by all the documentaries I've seen on it since, but when the announcement was made that they had established contact after breaking back through the earths atmosphere - and everyone knew they were going to make it - people around the world went nuts in celebration.
