    Beautiful day......gone crappy!!

I had to return to Houma, La today as I am starting some classes tomorrow. What started as a relaxing drive on a beautiful day turned into this :

Thank goodness it was only 73 degrees when I was changing the tire!

I was running 70mph when it went. Luckily it was a rear tire. Just heard a pop, and felt the right rear of the truck drop.
I pulled onto the shoulder immediately and was shocked when I got out and saw it!

I had one do that and bend my truck up pretty bad! BF Goodrich replaced the tire and paid to have my truck fixed.

No damage to the truck. I am wondering why it blew out??? I didnt run over anything (that I saw) and it still has about 50 -60% tread. The tires are only about a year and a half old.

Need to see if there is a discount tire in Houma, La.

Tires blow like that due to stress cracks at the tread/sidewall junction. 1 yr and half old are mine on my 08 F150.... bought used. 27000 miles, already need to be replaced (sitting in a lot for a while not moving does that also).

Dang, Frank! Glad you are okay!!!

You need to clean out the bed of your pickemup truck...get rid of those empty bottles and other trash ...but that a fine looking tool box in there!!!
