My PC runs slow while viewing the green screen.

Has anyone used any of the web sites that say they can make your machine run faster?

I'm leery of doing that and thought I would check to see if other folks have done it and what were the results.

Download a program called Malwarebytes Anti-malware and run it every week or so. I don't know for sure but I bet the websites are scams.

Get www.tune-up.com there is not much "free" I trust anymore.

If you're really feeling squirrelly then get rid of windows.
Download Ubuntu and run linux on your machine.

Try Google Chrome as your browser, Go to Google, more options, even more, then download Chrome. You will need your passwords to login on the sites you visit because they will not be automatically saved anymore. Alot faster than explorer 8 for me. If it doesnt work for you, it can be removed.

Download and run Advanced System Care from iobit. Get the free version. I use it every couple of days and it helps for stuff that gets on past the firewall and antivirus.

MalwareBytes is also a good one (probably the best of the freeware) but Advanced System Care takes care of a lot of other problems like the registry, defragging, etc., all with one scan button.

You can also run CCleaner and Spybot S&D which are also both free. They will sometimes pick up something that gets past ASC and MB.

All of those programs are free although they want to hit you up for the "pro" (paid) version which updates itself automatically and will autorun if you set it up to. Just get the free versions and run them manually every few days.

It is a lot of the same kind of programs that the fast PC sites advertise but you can get these free and they work.
